Common Applications
Heavy-duty expanded metal grating is produced from aluminum, stainless or carbon steel sheet and plate which contains no joints or welds, as each sheet is a single piece of sturdy steel. Lightweight and economical, expanded metal grating is ideal for use wherever a strong, durable lightweight surface is needed. It is the standard product specified by engineers and managers for use in:
- Catwalks, ramps, stairs, platforms
- Maintenance platforms
- Elevated walkways
- Mezzanines and heavy duty shelving
- Truck-cab safety screens, vehicle flooring and transport protection
- Ship and offshore rig flooring
- Partitions where high security is important
- Security platforms
- Industrial stairs, window protection and doors
Finishing
We produce our expanded metal gratings from aluminum, stainless steel, carbon and almost any ductile material. The quality is assured to ISO 9001:2008 standards. We also provide multiple options of finishes for our walkway grating, which is crucial for our clients and for how they would like their final product.
Our options of protective layering include anodized, galvanized, powder coated, and other painted layers for metals.
Anodized metal (most commonly applied to aluminum) walkway grating has added corrosion resistance. The anodized metal has better adhesion for coatings than plain metal. It is also safe for the environment, having little to no negative effects on land, in air or water.
Galvanization provides expanded metal gratings with a protective coating of zinc to prevent corrosive substances from affecting the metal. It has long term protection from damage and weathering over time.
Powder coating has higher thickness level than most other protective layers. It is economically safe, durable and has a high resistance to wear.
All finishes are available according to the type of metal protection that our clients need.
