Expanded Metal Decking
Expanded metal decking is made through cutting and stretching metal sheets or coils. The surface of the metal decking is generally raised to provide better non-slip characteristic.
The expanded metal decking can be made of stainless steel, galvanized steel or aluminum. Due to its excellent anti-slip, high load-bearing performance and safety, it can be used to make decks, non-slip floors, stair treads, etc. Common applications include oil rigs, dock decks, balconies, platforms, gangways, aviation maintenance and assembly platforms, and bridge decks.
When it comes to loading ramps, we know that it is important that you have the right ramp for the job to ensure the loading goes smoothly. Raised expanded metal mesh, due to the knuckles created during the metal expansion process, has fantastic anti-slip and grip properties.
Due to the material being lightweight and offering inherent strength it is ideal for loading ramps and for use as trailer flooring, and it offers superb wheel grip.
Expanded metal mesh is robust and durable, so can withstand regular cleaning, even with bleach, which makes it an ideal solution for applications such as ramps, trailers and access ramp platforms. The design of expanded metal mesh also means that surface water can easily drain away, reducing the risk of accidents.
Due to the characteristics of raised expanded metal mesh, ice, snow and mud can easily break off underfoot for added protection.
As with other expanded metal products our ramp products can also be designed to offer aesthetic appeal and complement an existing building or structure, and are available in a variety of materials including aluminium, steel and stainless steel. We can also provide a range of coatings for added protection and corrosion resistance, such as galvanizing and polyester powder coating.
Our mesh can be used to create car ramps, lorry and van ramps and motorcycle ramps.
Expanded metal mesh may also be used for walkways and gantries with a range of applications available.
Expanded Sheet Terminology
There are two kinds of expanded metal: standard mesh and flattened mesh.
Usually when we punched in our machine, it is standard mesh, and then flattened in the pressing machine, it is flattened mesh.
