Expanded metal filter element is expanded and stretched into various hole patterns, with special technology, there is no any welds and joints on the surface, so it is more rigid and solid than the welded wire mesh. In some filtering applications, the environment is harsh, the expanded metal filter element has more durable life than the welded filter element.

In the filter element applications, the expanded metal sheet is commonly made into tube shapes for filtering solid, water and other goods.

The expanded metal sheet can also be used as support mesh of the filter element, such as knitted wire mesh, carbon filter elements and other materials of filter elements.

1.How is expanded metal useful in the manufacturing of  filters?

Expanded metal in YILIDA is the outside screen that protects the filter media while allowing air to pass through the filter at a predetermined air flow rate. 

2.What patterns and sizes of expanded metal is typically used in  filters?

The expanded metal pattern for HEPA filters is typically .250" SWD x .500" LWD allowing for a 72% - 75% air flow rate.  The expanded metal is cut to the exact size of each HEPA Filter and is then powder coated white to an industry standard used internationally.
